Foley, Baron, Metzger & Juip (FBMJ) Member, Tony Pignotti, was invited to present to the American Society of Interventional Pain Physicians (“ASIPP”) at its recent conference titled, “Strategy for Successful Practice Management: Documentation, Compliance & Practice Building.” This two-day conference discussed various topics, including documentation for interventional pain management practices, issues affecting practice management, coding and billing issues, and compliance and regulatory matters. The course was designed to educate its attendees on how to operate an interventional pain care center more effectively so that their patients can receive optimal care. Tony’s presentation, titled “Preventing and Defending Malpractice Lawsuits” was designed to educate the health care providers who attended the conference on the legal elements of a medical malpractice claim, to help them understand the basics of defending a medical malpractice lawsuit and what to expect when faced with a claim, and to teach them how to identify strategies to minimize the risks of medical malpractice claims.
ASIPP was founded in 1998 to represent interventional pain physicians dedicated to improving the delivery of interventional pain management services to patients across the country in the various settings of ambulatory surgical centers, offices, and hospital outpatient departments. Its mission is to promote the development and practice of safe, high quality, cost-effective interventional pain management techniques for the diagnosis and treatment of pain and related disorders, and to ensure patient access to these interventions.
Tony is a Member at FBMJ and has devoted his legal career to defending medical professionals across the spectrum of healthcare professions and medical specialties, as well as healthcare institutions. Contact Tony at apignotti@fbmjlaw.com or (734) 742-1800 for more information.
