In 2004, Tom was selected among other national defense trial lawyers to serve as faculty for the prestigious International Association of Defense Counsel Trial Academy held at Stanford University Law School. He and the attorneys in his group have defended class actions, antitrust, aviation, complex commercial and other high-stakes litigation.
Tom carries Martindale-Hubbell’s “A-V” rating and is an active member of the International Association of Defense Counsel [IADC]. He is also a member of the M-LAW (Michigan Lawsuit Abuse Watch) Advisory Board where he is active in pro-business tort reform activities. In 2015, he was recognized by DBusiness Magazine as a “Top Lawyer” in products liability. Tom is currently the only Michigan lawyer listed in International Who’s Who of Product Liability Defense Lawyers.

He is an instrument-rated pilot and enjoys both Alpine and Nordic skiing in the Winter and boating and windsurfing during the Summer months. Tom is an avid reader with particular interest in history and cosmology. Tom, Ginny and their daughter Katie are all proud Michigan State grads and avid Spartan fans.
