Foley, Baron, Metzger & Juip Welcomes Former Chief Judge Sean Cox
Former Chief Judge Sean Cox of the U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of Michigan recently served as the featured speaker at Foley, Baron, Metzger & Juip’s monthly professional staff meeting.
Judge Cox, who retired from the federal bench in 2025 and now serves as a mediator and arbitrator with JAMS in Detroit, presented “Litigation in the Eastern District of Michigan,” offering practical guidance and best practices for attorneys practicing in federal court.
Prior to the presentation, Joseph Patrick McGill, Member at Foley, Baron, Metzger & Juip, Past President of the State Bar of Michigan, and Honorary Consul of Ireland to the State of Michigan, presented Judge Cox with a commemorative medallion on behalf of the Consulate of Ireland. The presentation recognized their shared Irish heritage and longstanding commitment to the legal profession. The event provided attorneys with valuable insight into effective federal litigation while celebrating the professional accomplishments and public service of both Judge Cox and Mr. McGill.
