FBM Environmental Attorney Assists City of Marquette, MI with Property Investigation

Marquette city officials have retained FBM attorney, Richard Baron, to assist them with a request from the Michigan Department of Natural Resources and Environment (“MDNRE”) to better determine the source and extent of contamination that exists on a prime Lake Superior shoreline location, formerly an industrial site, now owned by the City.   Baron and environmental consultants are working with city officials and the MDNRE to monitor groundwater on the 46-acre site and investigate subsurface conditions to determine the continuing effect on the groundwater.  The investigation will help the City to evaluate redevelopment alternatives for this Lake Superior site.  MiningJournal.net recently reported on the site investigation: Cliffs Dow Debate.
