In their free time, James and his wife Nicole, who is a labor and delivery nurse, enjoy discovering new and interesting restaurants and walking the trails by their home. They have three small children, James, Isla, and Penelope who have an endless supply of energy. They enjoy going to the local parks and frequent bike rides when the weather allows.

James is a first-generation attorney, the oldest of four, and enjoys being outdoors. Whether it’s on the golf course, the beach, or in the woods, he’s usually outside as much as possible. He loves to spend time in the woods turkey hunting or just simply at the park with his kids. James credits his late grandfather for inspiring him to pursue law school as he always valued self-improvement and learning, ideals he learned from the Navy and as an accomplished master electrician.

James and his wife, Nicole, fell in love while training for the Detroit Half Marathon years ago. While James is usually not one to be late, he had registered late for the race and it wasn’t until the start of the race that he realized he had accidentally registered as a walker. As a result, he came in second place for his age-group and proudly displays his plaque in his house. James and Nicole used to be avid runners, participating in events such as Tough Mudder, Warrior Dash, and the Turkey Trot. Now their days are spent running around playgrounds.
