Erica is an associate with the firm. Her work includes defending health care organizations and professionals in complex medical malpractice claims, as well as other personal injury and insurance claims.
Before joining Foley, Baron, Metzger & Juip, Erica worked for a law firm in Bloomfield Hills, Michigan, where she specialized in medical malpractice and nursing home malpractice. In addition, she has experience in criminal law, family law, premises liability, nursing home negligence, general negligence claims, and first and third-party no-fault actions.
While in law school, Erica served as a Junior Member and Associate Editor for the University of Detroit Mercy Law Review. In addition, she was also a Junior Editor and Associate Editor of the school’s newspaper, In Brief. She honed her legal skills during law school as a law clerk for a large defense medical malpractice firm in Detroit, and as a paralegal for an in-house insurance company with offices throughout the United States.
Erica is a member of the State Bar of Michigan.
Outside of work, Erica enjoys spending time with her family. She has three children (ages 8, 7 and 4) who keep her very active. She enjoys being involved in her children’s lives and serves on her son’s preschool board, volunteers in her daughter’s Girl Scout troop, is on the Education Commission at St. James Catholic Church, teaches catechism class, and is the team manager for her son’s travel soccer team.
When she is not spending time with her children, Erica enjoys reading (mysteries or crime novels), watching Michigan football (Go Blue!), playing trivia games (such as Trivia Crack – she seldom loses!) and rollerblading (without the kids – they slow her down!).
