FBMJ’s Joseph McGill Sworn In as 90th President of the State Bar of Michigan

Foley, Baron, Metzger & Juip, PLLC (FBMJ) is thrilled to announce that Joseph McGill has been sworn in as the 90th President of the State Bar of Michigan.

During his one-year term as President, McGill will serve all 46,000 Michigan attorneys and further the State Bar’s mission to promote the professionalism of lawyers; advocate for an open, fair, and accessible justice system; and provide offerings to members to help them best serve clients.

“I pledge, and I ask all of you to pledge, not only to strive to advance your own careers but also to contribute to the advancement of our profession,” McGill said at the Presidential Inauguration and Awards Luncheon on September 19.

McGill’s support for the State Bar of Michigan runs deep. He has served on the Board of Commissioners since 2015 and has previously been selected by his fellow board members for the roles of Treasurer, Secretary, Vice President, and President-Elect.

“We are extremely proud of the work Joe is doing for the legal community across Michigan,” said Randall Juip, Member of the firm. “His dedication to service is reflected in the incredible results he achieves on behalf of our clients every day.”  

As a Member with the firm, McGill has extensive litigation and transactional experience. His practice includes complex litigation matters including business torts, construction litigation, product liability, commercial disputes, and probate and estate planning.
