FBMJ Attorney Joseph McGill Elected Secretary of the SBM
We are pleased to announce that Joseph McGill, a principal with the firm, was recently elected and sworn in as the Secretary of the State Bar of Michigan for the 2021-2022 bar year.
McGill was sworn in by Chief Justice Bridget Mary McCormack of the Michigan Supreme Court during a virtual inauguration ceremony broadcast via Facebook and YouTube on Friday, September 17th. As Secretary, Mr. McGill will Chair the Professional Standards Committee which oversees the Bar’s efforts in the following areas: Character & Fitness, Client Protection Fund, Judicial Ethics, Judicial Qualifications, Lawyers & Judges Assistance, Professional Ethics and the Unauthorized Practice of Law. He will also serve on the SBM Executive Committee and Strategic Planning Committee both of which work with bar staff to provide leadership and vision for the future.
