FBM Attorneys Coordinate Wildlife Rescue
FBM attorneys Richard Baron and Brian Phinney recently helped mobilize an experienced team of environmental and wildlife rehabilitation consultants to clean and release approximately 50 Canada geese and mallards that were impacted by a small fuel spill in Troy, Michigan.
FBM attorneys worked closely with the U.S. Fish & Wildlife Service, the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency, the Michigan Department of Natural Resources, the Department of Environmental Quality and local volunteers to capture, clean and successfully return the birds to their local habitat. A local warehouse was donated and used as a temporary rehabilitation facility where attorneys and volunteers worked with the various agencies to build cages, set up hot water areas for bird cleaning, and establish areas for medical treatment, animal food preparation, and other aspects of the rehabilitation process.
