Cathy is an Of Counsel attorney with the Firm. Her experience is concentrated in representing clients in the defense of medical malpractice actions against hospitals and physicians, with an emphasis in emergency medicine. In addition, she has experience with medical staff and licensing issues. Cathy has lectured both locally and nationally on medical malpractice topics for the American College of Emergency Physicians and other medical/legal conferences and seminars.
Prior to joining the Foley, Baron, Metzger & Juip, PLLC, she was an associate attorney with Cozadd, Shangle, Smith & Andrews, P.C., and a Principal at Siemion-Huckabay, P.C.
Cathy carries Martindale-Hubbell’s “A-V” rating and has been named Michigan Super Lawyer in 2012. She is a member of the State Bar of Michigan, the Michigan Defense Trial Counsel (MDTC) and the Washtenaw County Bar Association.

Contributing Panel Member to “Legal Rounds,” a monthly medico legal round table conference conducted specifically for publication in the Journal of Emergency Medicine (approximately 40 columns from May 1985 through June 1993.)
Cathy is the proud mother of two grown daughters, who have finally reached financial independence in their respective fields of finance and medicine. She is also a new grandmother of a little baby girl, which has added a new twinkle in her eye!
She now enjoys travel off the beaten path around the globe. In addition to numerous places in the United States, in recent times she has travelled extensively in Asia, Africa, Europe, Australia and South America. Whether cycling, hiking, or kayaking, she always has a camera at the ready for not only wildlife, nature and human photography, but for the spontaneous and humorous shots she often captures in her travels.
