Before joining Foley, Baron, Metzger & Juip, Suzanne worked at two metro-Detroit law firms litigating first- and third-party insurance defense claims of auto negligence as well as the defense of worker’s compensation claims. In addition, Suzanne has experience with medical malpractice litigation, probate work, guardianships, and conservatorships.
Suzanne is a member of the State Bar of Michigan, the American Bar Association, and the Oakland County Bar Association. She was the past Chair of the Medical-Legal Committee of the Oakland County Bar Association where she was responsible for programming and presented on the Opioid Crisis and Aging with Dignity to legal and medical professionals.
Suzanne has a long history of volunteerism in addition to her legal career. Her volunteer activities include working with the Coalition on Temporary Shelter (COTS), the Warrick Dunn Foundation, Habitat for Humanity, the Detroit Lions Academy, The Detroit Zoological Society, the Cranbrook Schools, the Presbytery of Detroit and the First Presbyterian Church of Royal Oak.
Before she decided to become a lawyer, Suzanne thought she would become a veterinarian because of her love of animals and medicine. Although she eventually decided not to pursue that career path, her love for animals remains and keeps her busy today – she has four dogs, two rabbits and two horses!
Suzanne learned to ride horses as an adult, and loves to ride and compete with her horse, Pulsar. She competes with him in Hunter/Jumper competitions and were Champions at the Brave Horse Show in Ohio this summer (2022)!
