While attending Case Western Reserve University School of Law, Elyse earned a Concentration in Litigation and Alternative Dispute Resolution with Honors. She was inducted to the Order of the Barristers for excellence in oral advocacy and brief writing. She also participated in Moot Court and Mock Trial, winning the Best Litigator Award.
Before joining FBMJ, Elyse was an associate attorney at a medical malpractice and insurance defense firm in Troy, Michigan. Prior to that, Elyse served as a law clerk at a plaintiff’s medical malpractice firm in Detroit, Michigan, providing her with unique experience on the other side of the table.
Elyse loves the great outdoors! Having grown up on Lake St. Clair, Elyse gravitates toward the water whenever she gets the chance. She is an avid marathon runner. Her other favorite outdoor activities include biking, swimming, and cross-country skiing. Inside, Elyse can be found reading, doing puzzles, and cooking.
Elyse admits to being a coffee snob. She and her husband roast their own coffee. Elyse also likes craft beers, trying out new restaurants, and traveling.
Elyse is in love with Detroit. As a resident of the city, she delights in exploring its gems and sharing these with others.
